👟⚡Larkspur Lightning Run Club⚡👟

At Larkspur, we invite all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students who love to run or have the desire to become a runner to join our Lightning run club. This club meets every Monday morning from 7:00-7:30. Our track is an ⅛ of a mile and runners push themselves to see how many laps they can get in during that time. This club starts in October and runs all the way through the beginning of May. We have 86 runners for our 2025/2026 school year. 

As a run club member, we urge each student to set personal goals and work hard to achieve them. We emphasize to runners that it is not a competition with their peers, but a great way to set goals and become a better runner. 

When students hit certain milestones, they receive a chain and a run token. They also sign their name on a paper runner we display in the hallway. This gives the students a chance to be proud and show off their accomplishments. 

We also give out a golden shoe winner every Monday to the runner who achieved their goal and ran the most. These shoes go with them to their classrooms for a day and we hang their pictures in the gym. 

The Lightning run club is a great club that allows students to set goals, push themselves even when it gets hard, and feel accomplished. The progress these runners make from the beginning of the season until the end is remarkable.
